Killing My Sasha Fierce: Why I'm Stepping Out From Behind the Pen Name

Do you know the story behind Beyoncé’s alter ego, Sasha Fierce? She created Sasha as a way to step into a bolder, more fearless version of herself — someone who could command the stage without hesitation. Sasha Fierce helped her push past self-doubt and embody a version of herself without limits.
Eventually, Beyoncé didn’t need Sasha anymore — the boldness became part of her.
For years, you’ve known me as Jacqueline Atulip — my own version of Sasha Fierce. The writer behind the words, sharing insights on love, attraction, and the art of communication.
But what you may not know is… that wasn’t my real name.
Today, I’m ready to step fully into my own voice — no pen name, no veil. Just me.
When I started this journey, I hid behind a name. Back then, I worked in one of NYC’s top investment banking firms, and writing erotic short stories wasn’t exactly something I wanted attached to my LinkedIn.
I discovered Medium and started writing — first about sex and erotica, then expanding into dating and relationships.
I’ve always been fascinated by human psychology, attraction, and the way we connect. I loved hearing people’s stories. I loved encouraging them. And honestly? It made me feel connected and useful.
Still, I stayed hidden. At first, out of necessity. But even after I left corporate, I held onto the pen name. It felt safe. It gave me distance. Any criticism wasn’t really about me — it was about this persona I created.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
The more I write, the more I connect with all of you, the clearer it becomes — my real story, my real voice is what makes these words impactful.
And so, I’m ready to do what I’ve always encouraged women to do:
Step fully into my power.
I want to get more intimate with you, my readers — without hiding behind a character. I want to expand, grow this platform, and keep building something authentic.
And mostly — I want to thank you. For the reads, the follows, the subscriptions, the trust, and the conversations.
My real name is Javi Osei, and I’m so excited (and a little nervous) to finally introduce myself.
When I started writing as Jacqueline, it was a way to protect my privacy, test my voice, and build something beautiful. But along the way, I’ve learned something powerful:
The most magnetic thing a woman can do is stand fully in her own power — and own her vulnerability.
